A thought.
Would it be weird to work a quotation about knitting as an embroidery sampler? I kinda feel like quotes about knitting should be knitted, but short of designing a text-based hockey sweater, I just don't see how I can make that work. Plus there's the problem that I'd never wear a hockey sweater, but I'd hang embroidery on my wall any day.

Who says you have to separate the fiber arts? You can always knit the background that you stitch over too, maybe laceweight on small needles, though it wouldn't be quite square.
